 The Mouse Deer

 Stole the Cucumber

   One day a mouse deer ran until he arrived at a plantation field. Seeing lots of fresh cucumbers there he became hungry. Suddenly, in the mouse deer's mind came an idea to steal. He immediately entered the field and he started eating cucumbers until he was full. From then on he decided to come back tomorrow and eat lots of fresh cucumbers.

   After five days passed, a farmer who owned the field came, he was angry because his plantation field was a mess. An idea came to make a scarecrow. He made a scarecrow and covered it with sticky jackfruit sap. Then, put it in the field.

   Early in the morning, the deer came again. He knew that the scarecrow was not a real human and hit him. However, his legs got stuck in the scarecrow and couldn't be removed. “Hohoho… I caught you, thief!” The farmer came and locked the mouse deer in a cage.

   At night, the deer saw a farmer's dog around him. He called the dog. “Shh… Come here!” The dog came. “Do you know? I was invited to a party by the farmer, were you invited too?” The dog shook his head sadly. “Will you take my place? Because I have important business,” the mouse deer said. The dog smiled, “Yes, of course!” The dog unlocked the cage door. The mouse deer came out and the dog entered the cage. Then, the deer closed the latch on the cage door. He felt guilty and immediately ran away before being caught again. Poor dog, he only realized the truth when the deer disappeared.

The moral value that can be learned is to use intelligence for positive things and don't steal.
